Strengths
The default aesthetic is still the category benchmark — V8.1 (default since 11/06/2026) renders native 2K HD 4-5x faster than V7 with better coherence and usable short-text rendering. The style-control stack (--sref, Style Creator, Moodboards, Omni Reference, default-on personalization) is the most expressive in the market and a genuine moat. Draft Mode plus cheap image-to-video stretch a GPU budget far. The company is profitable, bootstrapped and disciplined: no VC, ~100 staff, revenue well past $200M.
Honest dings
No API, no MCP, no integration path — automation is explicitly against the ToS. No free tier, and the refund policy (void after ~20 minutes of lifetime GPU use) drives a 1.5/5 Trustpilot score built on billing complaints and credible image-deletion reports. Text rendering, though improved, still trails Ideogram badly. No copyright indemnification, and the ongoing Disney/Universal/Warner Bros. lawsuit is a real commercial-risk overhang. Images are public unless you pay €56+/month for Stealth.
