Notion AI is no longer a separate add-on — it is bundled into the plans, with Free and Plus getting only a limited trial. The heavy features are metered: Custom Agents and Workers consume Notion credits, sold to Business and Enterprise workspaces at $10 per 1,000 monthly credits and adjustable each month. Custom Agents became billable on 4 May 2026. Notion's pricing page shows only the $10/$20 per-member figures; it has a monthly/yearly toggle and says 'save up to 20% with yearly', so the monthly-commitment rate may be higher than shown.

Strengths
Context is the moat: Q&A, Enterprise Search and agents grounded in the workspace you already maintain, with connectors into Slack, Drive, GitHub, Jira and Linear. The multi-model picker (GPT-5.x, Claude Opus, Gemini) is unusually open for a workspace tool, AI Meeting Notes is best-in-class, and the hosted MCP server plus the May 2026 Developer Platform (Workers, External Agent API) turned Notion into a genuine agent hub. Business at $20/seat including full AI undercuts stacking separate AI subscriptions.
Honest dings
Full AI requires the Business plan — Free/Plus get a one-time trial widely described as a trap, and solo users lost the $10 add-on in May 2025. Custom Agents meter at $10/1,000 credits on top of seats, with fair-use throttling that isn't clearly published. Q&A reliability degrades in deep or messy workspaces, agents read external tools far better than they write to them, there's no eval surface at all, and first-draft writing quality trails Claude/ChatGPT.
