Shippo — can an agent use it?
Shippo is one of the most agent-ready services we have scored. Official MCP server that covers the core transaction (buying a label), comprehensive REST API with documented rate limits, free test mode, open robots.txt, and a purpose-built llms.txt. The only real gap is the absence of interoperable agent payment protocols — labels are purchased through Shippo's own billing, not via ACP or AP2.

Agents can purchase shipping labels through the API and MCP server — real money moves (label costs are charged to the Shippo account). However, there is no support for any published agent payment protocol (ACP, AP2, MPP, x402). The billing relationship is between the merchant and Shippo; an agent acts within an authenticated merchant session, not under delegated spend-capped authority with an audit trail. The transaction capability exists but is proprietary. source
