Jobber AI
The Receptionist genuinely books jobs at 2am and Jobber AI is included on every plan, which is rare. But the model behind it is named nowhere, there is no way to measure whether it answered well, and the outcome depends almost entirely on how carefully you configured it.
PRICING
| Core | $29/mo annual, $49 monthly | 1 user; scheduling, quotes, invoicing, payments; Jobber AI included |
| Connect | from $99/mo annual, $139 monthly | adds automated reminders and follow-ups, QuickBooks Online sync, client hub |
| Grow | from $149/mo annual, $199 monthly | adds two-way SMS, job costing, optional line items, custom workflow automations |
| Plus | from $399/mo annual (5 users), $499 monthly | adds Marketing Suite, Pipeline, unlimited AI Receptionist, dedicated onboarding, premium support |
| AI Receptionist add-on | $29/mo | 30 conversations included, $0.79 per conversation over; requires a dedicated Jobber phone number, available US/CA/UK only |
Two traps. First, most third-party comparisons published in 2026 still quote the Receptionist at $99/mo — Jobber's own help centre, updated 09/07/2026, publishes $29/mo for 30 conversations plus $0.79 each after that. Check the vendor page, not the roundups. Second, the headline $29 Core plan is one user and carries none of the features an operating crew needs; two-way texting and automations start at Grow, and by the time the Marketing Suite, Pipeline and Receptionist add-ons stack up you are close to the Plus price that includes them. Independent reviewers put the typical landing point at Grow team pricing within six months. Month-to-month runs roughly 25-30% above annual.

Strengths
Jobber AI is included on every plan at no extra cost, which almost nobody else in field-service software does — ServiceTitan does not publish add-on pricing at all and Housecall Pro's CSR AI is quote-only. The AI is grounded in your own account, so 'what was my recurring revenue this quarter' and 'draft this quote' both work without any setup. The Receptionist is the standout: 24/7 on calls and texts, books straight into the live calendar, recognises returning callers and can greet them with their next appointment, texts back people who hang up, escalates on keywords you define, and writes a summary, transcript and recording into the dashboard for every conversation. Jobber even publishes demo numbers so you can call it and judge for yourself before buying, which is more confidence than most voice-AI vendors show. Voice mode covers 100+ tasks hands-free on mobile, which matters when the user is on a roof. And the disclosure discipline on limits is good — the docs say plainly that a dedicated phone number is required and that it only works in the US, Canada and the UK.
Honest dings
The model is not named anywhere, so you are trusting an unnamed engine with recorded customer phone calls. There is no evaluation surface at all — nothing that scores answers, samples conversations or catches a regression after you change a setting, on a product that talks to customers unsupervised. There is no MCP server, so the assistant cannot reach anything outside Jobber and third parties now sell private connectors to close that gap. Results in the field split sharply on configuration: Jobber's own community forum carries one plumber reporting a booking captured with no idea what the job was, another who switched it off after hearing frustration in a customer's voice, and complaints that it failed to recognise existing clients — next to an operator who set it up carefully and called it a game changer. Independent reviewers consistently report that older, higher-ticket homeowners hang up on it and that technical trade questions get a callback promise rather than an answer. It is phone AI, not omnichannel: ServiceTitan's own 2025 survey puts 47% of leads on non-phone sources the Receptionist never sees. Jobber AI Voice and Chat is still labelled Beta as of the 16/06/2026 help article. And the whole thing is Jobber-locked — leave the platform and the capability does not travel.
