“Salesloft AI agents work as an extension of your team, proactively handling tedious tasks, surfacing critical insights, and anticipating your next move” — the vendor’s own words

The cadence engine is still the best in the category and the MCP server is real, but you pay $125-165 per user per month for AI that independent reviewers call helper-grade, you cannot see which model writes your emails, and this is the vendor whose GitHub account was open from March to June 2025 and ended up costing hundreds of Salesforce tenants their data.

Best for: Outbound organisations of 50-plus reps with a dedicated RevOps function, a Salesforce-centric workflow and procurement discipline strong enough to strip the escalators and auto-renewal out of the order form. It is a genuinely good execution layer for structured multi-channel cadences, and Conversations is worth having if you are not already paying a specialist for call intelligence. It is the wrong tool below roughly 20 reps, where seat minimums, implementation cost and admin burden destroy the return, and the wrong tool for anyone who needs to know which accounts are in market, because Salesloft ships no intent data, no visitor identification and no contact enrichment at any price. If model transparency or an eval surface is a hard requirement for your AI governance policy, this platform does not currently meet it.

Salesloft publishes no numbers at all, so every figure above comes from procurement marketplaces and buyer disclosures and should be treated as a negotiation anchor rather than a quote. Two contract terms show up repeatedly in reviews and are worth reading before signing: automatic annual escalators of 5-8%, and an auto-renewal clause that triggers unless written cancellation lands at least 60 days before renewal, which reviewers say must be excluded on the order form itself. The stated seat price is also rarely the real cost, because the dialer, conversation intelligence, the two agent packages and forecasting are all separate line items, and Salesloft ships no contact data of its own, so a data provider is a further mandatory spend.

Strengths

Salesloft earns its position on execution. The cadence engine is the thing reviewers praise most consistently across 4,200-plus G2 reviews at 4.5 out of 5, the Salesforce sync is described by users as close to fully accurate, and reps generally prefer the interface to the main alternative. Rhythm turns buyer signals from the platform, from partner integrations like ZoomInfo and G2, and from a customer's own proprietary data into a single prioritised worklist per seller, with Focus Zones letting a rep work by outcome rather than by task type. Plays fire automated action sets off those signals with no code. Conversations covers the whole call lifecycle: automated prep and research before, live transcription and real-time battlecards during, then summaries, action items, follow-up emails, CRM updates and scored calls after, with cross-call tracking of how objections and phrases correlate to outcomes. The agent roster is specific rather than decorative, with Account Research, Person Research, Buyer Identification, Ask Salesloft, Deal Summary, Analytics Interpreter and a Sales Strategist that runs a weekend analysis and delivers coaching tasks into Monday's workflow. The MCP server is a real one, listed in Claude's connector directory, exposing 14 tools over accounts, people, conversations, recordings and opportunities, with an admin enable toggle and a documented no-training position. And the security programme, judged on documentation rather than history, is thorough: SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001 audited annually, ISO 27701 for privacy, US and EU hosting on AWS and GCP, AES-256-GCM at rest, privileged access management with time-limited sessions, a standing bug bounty and 24x365 SIEM monitoring.

Honest dings

Start with August 2025, because it is the single most consequential fact about this vendor. Mandiant's investigation, which Salesloft published in full, found the threat actor inside the Salesloft GitHub account from March through June 2025, downloading repositories, adding a guest user and establishing workflows, then moving into Drift's AWS environment and taking customer OAuth tokens. Between 8 and 18 August the actor used those tokens to bulk-export Salesforce data from hundreds of tenants, including Google, Cloudflare, Palo Alto Networks, Zscaler, Tenable and Proofpoint, and searched the exfiltrated records for AWS access keys, passwords and Snowflake tokens. Salesloft's first statement said customers not integrating with Salesforce were unaffected; Google's threat intelligence group publicly corrected that within days and told every Drift customer to treat all stored tokens as compromised. Salesforce pulled Drift from AppExchange and it never returned. Mandiant verified containment and confirmed the Salesloft platform itself was segmented and uncompromised, which matters, and CyberScoop noted Salesloft still has not explained how the GitHub account was accessed or why OAuth tokens were sitting in that cloud environment. In March 2026 Drift was formally put into sunset, with 1mind named as the successor and existing customers referred out. Anyone who bought Salesloft for the Drift chat layer bought a product that is now being switched off. Second problem: model opacity. The published AI index labels providers only as Salesloft or 3rd party, the sub-processor list lives behind the Trust Portal, and the documentation reserves the right to change the AI provider for any feature without notice. You cannot choose a model, cannot see which one wrote a buyer-facing email, and cannot benchmark one against another. Third: there is no eval surface at all, while Salesloft's own guidance tells you output may be false, incomplete or misleading and should be independently verified. Fourth, the money. Reported seat pricing of $125-165 buys an execution layer, not an intelligence one, and independent 2026 reviews are blunt that the AI is helper-grade. The dialer, conversation intelligence, both agent packages and forecasting are separate line items, there is no built-in contact data at any tier, and multiple reviewers document 5-8% baked-in annual escalators plus a 60-day written-cancellation auto-renewal that must be struck from the order form itself. Trustpilot sits at 2.2 out of 5 largely on billing and contract disputes, against 4.5 on G2 from daily users, and that gap is a procurement warning rather than a contradiction. Finally, the merger. Clari and Salesloft closed in December 2025, appointed a new CEO in Steve Cox, replaced the CRO and CTO in May 2026, and have not decided on a company name. Packaging and renewal economics are moving underneath any quote you receive.
