Tines
The governance layer is the product — MCP in both directions, two-year audit logs, ISO 42001 on the AI management system — and the retrieval half of the stack is simply absent, so grounding is something you bring.

Two products share one pricing page: Tines Stories (the workflow platform, editions Community / Business / Enterprise) and Tines 3B (the AI-native builder launched July 2026, free tier called Explore). Consumption is metered on events — the JSON output of a single action — not seats; viewers are unlimited on every edition. Hitting an event limit pauses affected workflows rather than generating an overage bill, with warnings at 80% and 100%.

Strengths
Governance is built into the data model rather than bolted on: two-year audit logs exported to S3 every 15 minutes, per-run token and credit metadata on every AI action, human approval gates as a native action type, change control on promotion to production, credentials injected by proxy so no secret reaches the builder or the model, and an AI overview page that lists every agent, tool and MCP connection in the tenant. Protocol support is the best on this table so far — a first-party MCP server for authoring, custom MCP servers you build on the storyboard, and an MCP client inside the agent action, all three with real auth and audit. The platform is genuinely vendor-agnostic across Bedrock, OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, Azure and self-hosted models, and ISO 42001 certification covers the AI management system itself, not just information security.
Honest dings
The retrieval half of the periodic table is missing: no embeddings, no vector store, no grounding feature, so any RAG use case means wiring up your own Pinecone or equivalent through HTTP actions. There is no LLM output eval suite either — you can test that a workflow runs, not that a prompt change made the answers worse. Pricing transparency went backwards in 2026: a published $500/month Starter tier launched in February and has since disappeared from the pricing page, which now shows one free tier and a GET PRICING button. And the product surface split into Tines Stories and Tines 3B in July 2026, so which docs, which limits and which roadmap apply to you now depends on which product you bought.

Every audit lists the research it rests on — transparency and traceability are the product. Tools evolve: each audit is a snapshot of its audit date, and re-audits supersede older versions (kept below for reference).
